A visit to an Italian stone workshop

To be mesmerized by the beauty of Italian stones.

Last weekend, in an effort to make as much progress as possible on the renovation work that had been derailed by the Corona pandemic, I went to a factory near a nearby stone mining site to select stones. The marble from Carrara, loved by Michelangelo, the beautiful Travatino from Tivoli near Rome, and Basaltina, mined nearby and used on streets since the Middle Ages, made the tour like a tour of beautiful Italian stone gardens. Just looking at them, your mind is whisked away to a world of art and imagination. Under the rainy sky that seems to be weeping at any moment, your heart will throb with excitement.
